The first festival dedicated to Kosovar composers is a historic debut
in Kosovo's cultural scene, serving as an important platform to honor,
preserve, and promote Kosovo's rich musical heritage. This
distinguished event is designed as a series of activities spanning a
year, with a clear goal: creating, disseminating, and protecting
musical works. Organized for the first time, this festival declares
the need to embark on a significant journey towards promoting Kosovar
composers and presenting them on the Kosovar stage.
Starting from the
lack of space and expressive opportunities, this organization aims to
create an inspiring and enriching environment for new artistic
creations in Kosovo's music.
Such an initiative speaks to the desire to enrich and develop our musical culture. This should have happened much earlier, as it has with other nations, and I wholeheartedly support this essential step for the Kosovo Composers Festival, which will promote and affirm our musical culture on an international scale. I hope and wish that the request of the Kosovo Composers Festival is met with understanding from all relevant institutions and donors, who play an important role in supporting and promoting musical culture in the Western world.
